The Northern Pike is one animal in the Arctic Tundra that is an Invasive Species. They are olive or yellow in color with a white belly. They grow to about 150 cm in length and about 25 Kg (55 lbs). They can pose a threat to native fish. They eat the native salmon, and Rainbow trout. They also pose a threat to hatchery stocked fish, which impacts fishing opportunities- one of the most populars sports in the Anchorage area. In most areas Northern Pike are in season to be fished all year, and there is no limit to the amount you are allowed to catch.
